It produces abundant tubular flowers in a wide range of colours—typically pink, red, orange or purple—with distinctive spots in the flower throat. Flowering occurs mainly from winter to spring, often extending into summer, providing vibrant colour when many other plants are dormant. Its dense foliage and attractive form make it ideal for feature planting, native gardens, or informal hedges.
