Calothamnus quadrifidus is a versatile and hardy shrub native to Western Australia, widely recognised for its fine, grey-green foliage and distinctive red bottlebrush-like flowers. The blooms appear mainly in spring but can occur intermittently throughout the year, emerging on one side of the stem — a unique trait that gives the plant its common name. A magnet for nectar-feeding birds and insects, this Myrtaceous species is well-suited to native gardens, shelter plantings, and low-maintenance landscapes.
