A fast-growing, hardy shrub with soft grey-green foliage and masses of large mauve to pink flowers from spring through autumn. Malva subovata is highly ornamental and thrives in dry, coastal, and exposed conditions. Its long flowering season provides excellent colour and attracts bees, butterflies and nectar-feeding birds.
Growing Conditions: Prefers full sun and open positions. Low water requirements once established. Regular light pruning encourages dense, tidy growth and extended flowering.
Soil Type: Well-drained sandy or loamy soils. Tolerates poor, dry and coastal conditions.
Special Features: Excellent for coastal gardens, informal hedging, or as a feature shrub. Long flowering period and excellent drought tolerance make it ideal for low-maintenance landscapes.
